Joha And The Palm Tree
When Joha was adjudge in a small twon, two villagers came to him
The name of one was Fuad, and the name of the other was Khaleel. They were both farmers, Khaleel was hard-working and honest , but Fuad was lazy and dishonest. Khaleel brought Fuad to the court and told this story to the judge
Khaleel : I lent ten pieces of gold to Fuad a year ago . Now he doesn't want to give them back to me
Joha : Is this true, Fuad? Did you borrow this money from Khaleel
Fuad : No, sir. I didn't. Khaleel is lying. I didn't borrow anything from him
Joha : When did you lend Fuad the money , Khaleel
Khaleel : On Tenth of June, sir. About a year ago
Joha : Did anybody see you give him the money
Khaleel : No, sir . We were alone. We were sitting under a big palm tree near the river when Fuad borrowed the money. He promised to pay it back to me
Joha : We must tell the palm tree to come to this court . The palm tree knows the truth
Khaleel : But a tree can't walk , sir, and it can't talk either
Joha : Everybody and everything must obey the orders of a judge's court. I will write the order for you. Take it to the palm tree, Khaleel. It will not disobey a judge. Fuad will stay here.
The court waits for nearly half an hour
Joha : Why hasn't Khaleel come back? This palm tree seems to be a long way from here
Fuad : You are right sir. The tree is three kilometers from here,
behind Khaleel's farm. He will be back in about an hour
The court waits for another half an hour
Joha : Khaleel is coming soon
Khaleel : Iam sorry , sir. I have come back without the palm tree
I asked the tree to come with me and showed it your orders , but it didn't move from its place
Fuad smiles. He is happy
Joha : Never mind , Khaleel. The palm tree has spoken to me and told me everything
Khaleed : How can a palm tree speak to you, sir
Joha : It spoke with Fuad's tongue and lips. The palm tree has told me the truth. Are you still smilling, Fuad? The palm tree is three kilometres from here, isn't it? How do you know this, Fuad? This tree is behind Khaleel's farm . You told me this,too,didn't you ? You seem to know this tree very well, don't you, Fuad? Khaleel did not tell a lie. You did
Fuad is not smilling now. He is unhappy
You will give Khaleel the ten gold pieces, and you will stay in prison for one month
So Fuad had to pay back the money, then the judge ordered two policemen to take him to prison

الكذب دائما حبلو قصير .. مهما كان المرء بارعاً في الكذب والادعاء سيأتي يوم وينكشف على حقيقته ويسقط من نظر الآخرين
