تتحوّل جنيف طيلة هذا الأسبوع إلى قبلة للشركات العالمية لصناعة السيارات والتي ترغب في استعراض وترويج أحدث ابتكاراتها خاصة السيارات الكهربائية والسيارات الهجينة.

في جنيف، أماطت شركة مارسديس اللثام عن أوّل سيارة تعمل بالبنزين والكهرباء، وكذلك فعلت شركة BMW بإعلانها صناعة جيل جديدة من السيارات الهجينة المتقدمة، وهي فئة واعدة سوف تؤدي إلى خفض انبعاث الغاز الملوث، والحد من استهلاك الوقود بنسبة تزيد عن 10%. وتخطط كل من شركة أودي، ونيسان وشيفرولاي، وميتشيبيشي إلى إطلاق مشروعات جديدة لصناعة أنواعا مختلفة من السيارات الكهربائية والسيارات الهجينة.
ولم تشذ السيارات الراقية عن هذه القاعدة، إذ كشفت "فرّاري" عن نموذج لنسخة هجينة من سياراتها من فئة 599 جي تي بي فيارانو، أما "بورشه" الألمانية فقد صممت نسختيْن من سيارتيْها "كاين إس"، و" كاين 911 GT3"،
